As a young girl, Sandtricia Strickland searched store after store for souvenirs with her name on them - always coming up empty while her sister found hers with ease. Years later, with no formal training but a heart full of determination, Sandtricia borrowed her mom's sewing skills the night before interviewing at Evans Furriers. She landed the job, and her creativity quickly turned her into the monogrammer everyone trusted, bringing special requests from across the country into a Chicago factory. In 2000, guided by courage and a leap of faith, she invested in her first professional sewing machine and started Essential Creations out of her family's home. Family support transformed that small start into a business that now brings custom apparel - and joy - to people all around Chicago and beyond.
